What Are Centrifugal Juicers?

Centrifugal Juicers use a fast spinning metal blade against a mesh filter at high speeds (up to 10,000 RPMs) to extract juice using centrifugal force. Their rapid speed and force combined make for fast, easy juicing. However, their high speed means that these Juicers are noisier than other types of Juicers.

While Centrifugal Juicers are usually less expensive, they require a greater volume of produce to create the desired amount of juice.

From a nutritional point of view, the high-speed metal blade generates heat which oxygenates nutrients. Juice from Centrifugal Juicers is therefore less nutritious and has a shorter shelf life.

  • Fast
  • Easy to use
  • Less expensive than other types of Juicers

  • Not ideal for leafy greens
  • Extracts mostly water, leaves nutrients behind
  • High speed action generates heat and introduces oxygen (destroying enzymes and oxidizing nutrients)
  • Produces gritty and pulpy juice which leads to further oxidation
  • Juice has higher water content and decomposes almost immediately
  • Noisier than other types of Juicers
  • High speed motor is subject to burn-out
  • Warranties often last only 1 year
